HISTORY
Survivors was formed on November 8th, 2004 and has operated without pause ever since. Survivors is currently a raiding guild in RIFT on the Silkweb Shard, Defiant faction.
MISSION
Survivors' primary goal is to achieve complete endgame raiding success in the smallest time frame possible. We do this through discipline and preparation. We have and will accomplish in just 2-3 raid nights what takes others the better part of a week to do. We do this through excellent game play and and resourceful use of time.
Survivors' secondary goal is to provide a home and social network for real life friends and families of our raiders, and for our former and returning raiders who have helped over the years to make us what we are today.
GUILD STRUCTURE
Survivors is an autocracy.
Our Guild Leader has final decision in all matters. That said, we strive to both follow and be protected a by consistent adherance to rules and guidelines that have kept us together and happy for many years.
Guild Officers are appointed by the Guild Leader to help run and preserve the Guild. This team of veterans will advise the Guild Leader, officiate events, orient new members, and provide the maintenance needed for the Guild to function.
Veteran Raiders are active members of our raid force who have spent more than one year in our raid force. Veterans will be consulted on important matters and will have say in the promotion of new Recruits to Member status.
Veteran Members are Veteran Raiders who no longer raid with the Guild but still remain and play on some level. While they no longer raid or provide input, they should be respected for past experience of having done so.
Raiding Members are active members of our raid force who have been promoted from recruit status, but have raided with the Guild for less than one year. Upon one year of active raiding with the guild, Raiding Members will be promoted to Veteran Raider status.
Members are casual players in the Guild who do not raid currently and who never achieved Veteran Raider status. This includes friends and family members.
Recruits are those who have petitioned to join the Guild. Recruits remain such until a period of 30 days has passed, whereupon their membership will be either accepted or declined. Raiding recruits who are admitted to the Guild will be promoted to Raiding Member; others will be promoted to Member.
SOCIETY
Survivors does not settle for anything less than the best in human behavior. Respect, tolerance, generosity, sharing and kindness are of utmost importance. A good sense of humor is also recommended. We do not accept members under 18 years of age and prefer well settled adults.
We do not put up with poor sportsmanship, selfishness, or whining. We have "zero tolerance" for hate speech of any kind, interpersonal drama made public, and trash talking outside of the Guild.
Many of us have known each other for years, both in real life and from previous games. We gather every year for a Guild Meet in late Summer of Fall. New members are encouraged to socialize and become part of the family. If you are accepted beyond Recruit status it is because you are liked and we want you to belong here.
We are a voice chat oriented community. You will find others on Ventrillo every night whether there is an event happening or not. As a result there is usually much more lively and responsive talk on voice chat than in-game Guild chat.
RAIDING: GOALS AND EXPECTATIONS
You are expected to earn your place among us. This means taking your gear, level, and playing seriously, and displaying courtesy, cooperation, and decency. You must take personal accountability for your performance. This means a good spec and the knowledge to play it. We expect each of our raiders to perform at their optimal level, and we're happy to help you get there. We will do everything necessary to support you, and we expect the same; teamwork is what makes us successful.
Our Raid Leader's word is law for raid procedure and policy, strats, planning, and cuts. We encourage input when we're figuring out a new mob. Otherwise, listen, obey, and perform.
RAIDING: RULES FOR RIFT
1. Be on time. This means before the hour you are logged on in-game and can both hear and speak on Ventrillo.
2. If you will be late or absent you must post so on the forums or leave word with an Officer beforehand.
3. Begin all raids mended to 100% soul vitality.
4. Begin all raids with at least 3 Rally Scrolls.
5. Begin all raids with an ample supply of potions, serums and other consumables.
6. Begin all raids with the Daily Raid Rift quest (from Raj in Meridian, Hall of Planar Studies). End all raids by turning this quest in so it does not count against your next day's daily quest limit.
7. Begin all raids with no zone lockouts on your Raiding toon that were not incurred while on an official Guild Raid.
8. Be responsive, quickly, on Ventrillo, at all times.
9. Do not send the Raid Leader tells regarding raid strategy during the raid. We handle this business in Vent.
10. If you need to go AFK, send the Raid Leader a tell with an ETA on your return, or say so in Vent.
11. If we break, be back on time.
12. If you must leave the raid for any reason, you must leave the raid party before zoning out or logging off.
13. Understand our DKP Looting Rules and interact quickly and clearly if you are taking part in that process. This includes knowing your gear and identifying upgrades on the spot and quickly.
14. Do not revive, soul walk, or place a Soul Mender unless the Raid Leader specifically instructs you to do so.
15. Do not interrupt a pull once the Raid Leader or Main Tank has began a countdown unless it is an absolute emergency.
16. Be quiet after a wipe until the Raid Leader has given instructions to begin recovery.
17. Be quiet during the DKP Looting process.
18. Finally, from time to time the Guild Officers will set gear, level, spec or other requirements which must be met to maintain Raider status. These will be posted on our forums. Stay informed!
RAIDING: DKP RULES
DKP stands for Dragon Kill Points. It is a point-based bid process system for distributing raid loot. Raiders earn DKP for the time they invest in Raiding, and spend it to obtain Raid dropped loot.
To earn DKP and be eligible for loot you have to be in-game in advance of the start time and on Ventrilo. If you are late to a raid and do not get brought in you still qualify for attendance, earn DKP from the moment you arrive, and are eligible to bid on loot unless it is Bind On Pickup. You must be on Ventrilo and in-game for this to take effect. Any raiding members that were on time to the raid and asked to "cut" or "sit" will be eligible to bid on items that drop during the raid, if it is an item that can be traded or assigned outside of the formed raid.
If you are are late or absent and did not give notice regarding your absence you will receive a -15 DKP penalty (30 minute grace period for unexpected traffic, power outages, dropped internet, and the like). Those that arrive outside of the 30 minute window who did not post do not qualify for attendance or DKP unless they are later called into the raid.
Raiders earn 3 DKP per raid hour. Items have a minimum DKP cost of 25 DKP. These numbers are specifically geared to equate the amount of DKP earned in one week to the amount of one item's minimum bid amount.
It is your responsibility to make sure you have sufficient DKP to bid on an item. Players are also encouraged to check their DKP on the guild website after each raid and inform the DKP administrators if they notice any discrepancies.
When the bid process on an item begins, the raid leader will link the item in raid chat and note the minimum bid of 25 DKP. All communication about bids will be conducted openly in raid chat.
Raiders may then begin bidding any amount of DKP equal to or great than 25. If identical amounts are entered into chat by different bidders, then the first one to appear in chat stands. Subsequent bids may be placed for a greater amount of DKP in any increments of 1 or more. The highest bid placed wins award of the item for the DKP amount that was bid. Throughout the bid process the Raid Leader must ask in chat "Anyone else?" at least once, and announce "Last Call..." at least once. Any bids placed during this time are valid. When the Raid Leader congratulates the last bidder, the process is closed and the item is assigned for the high DKP amount that was bid. Bid retractions are not allowed, so do not err when taking part in this process.
If no one with 25 or more DKP in their current pool bids on an item, Raiders who have less than 25 DKP may bid. At this time, anyone who wishes to win the item may enter a bid of "25 Negative". The person with the highest positive DKP pool, or least negative DKP pool as the case may be, wins the item for a minimum cost of 25 DKP.
If an item receives no bids it will be looted for vendor sale, auction sale, or broken down for components at the Raid Leader's discretion.
